Michael J. McGushin
Michael J. McGushin (Director / Musical Director) has worked with Cabrillo Stage since 1985 and served as Music Director for the following productions: Anything Goes, The Last Five Years, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, The Fantasticks and The Music Man. Some other shows he has music directed for other companies include The Threepenny Opera, Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill, A…My Name is Alice, and Oh Coward!. This year he worked with Tom Lehrer on the premiere of a revue conceived by Mr. Lehrer featuring skits and songs inspired by the works of Shakespeare. Michael is also a composer, and two movements of his new String Quartet were premiered in February by the Santa Cruz-based ensemble NewMusicWorks. He is the coach/accompanist for UCSC's music department, an instructor of music at Cabrillo College, and a frequent performer as a pianist and conductor with numerous area ensembles.
 
Jake Maize(Lighting Design) is excited to be back for another season at Cabrillo Stage. Last summer he worked at Cabrillo as the master electrician for Escaping Queens and the assistant master electrician for La Cage Aux Folles and Oklahoma!. Jake also had the opportunity to work on Cabrillo's production of LUNCH as the assistant master electrician and assistant lighting designer. Jake is currently pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts at Cabrillo College, focusing on lighting design. There, he has designed shows including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and As You Like It.
Maria Crush
Maria Crush (Costume Design) Maria Crush has been working with Cabrillo Stage since 1988, designing such shows as The Wizard of Oz, Annie Get Your Gun, Funny Girl, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, Honk, Some Like It Hot, West Side Story, The Music Man, Swing!, Cabaret, The Full Monty, Hairspray, Plaid Tidings, Anything Goes, A Chorus Line, A Night at the Nutcracker, and most recently Oklahoma!, La Cage aux Folles and LUNCH. She was the designer for the first Cabrillo Stage Holiday production of Scrooge. She has designed costumes for West Bay Opera, New Music Works and Cabrillo College Productions including Much Ado About Nothing, Three Penny Opera, A Man For All Seasons, Rashomon, School for Scandal, Twelfth Night, The Magic Flute, Oedipus Rex, The Importance of Being Earnest, Seussical, The Marriage of Figaro, The Mikada and Shakespeare's "As You Like It". Other Credits include Bernstein's Mass and The Tender Land with the Cabrillo Music Festival. Maria is the resident Costume Designer of Cabrillo Stage. She also is the costume shop manager at Cabrillo College. In 2007, she received the Gail Rich Award, as well as being a two-time Rydell Visual Arts Fellowship nominee.
Michael Meek
Michael Meek (Sound Designer) his in his third season with Cabrillo Stage. He is a student in the music department at Cabrillo College and is the teaching assistant for the recording arts program. He has been the intern to the engineer at Kuumbwa Jazz for the past year. Michael has worked as the ASM for La Jolla Playhouse’s 2004 production of Continental Divide: Mothers Against and Daughters of the Revolution. He is a drummer and sound engineer.
Marcel
Marcel Tjioe (Resident Technical Director) has been working for Cabrillo Stage for the last four years. He has had a great time crucifying Jesus, hanging Judas, melting the Wicked Witch, killing all The Plaids and scaring the dickens out of Scrooge. Some of the other local companies Marcel has worked for include American Musical Theatre of San Jose, San Jose Repertory Theatre, and TheatreWorks in Palo Alto. He has also worked internationally in Germany (Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf) and Austria (Seefestspiele Mörbisch). Marcel was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a German citizen and he lives in Santa Cruz with his beautiful wife Myriam and 6 year old daughter Sofia. He is the Performing Arts Technician for Cabrillo College.
Emily James
Emily James (Stage Manager) is ecstatic to be stage managing Putting it Together. Em is a Santa Cruz native, and her work on such Cabrillo College shows as Streamers, The Grapes of Wrath, and PL8 lead to her being hired as an intern for Cabrillo Stage's Scrooge (2009). Since then, she has assistant stage managed Cabrillo Stage's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (2010), Scrooge (2010), Hairspray (2011), A Chorus Line (2012), Lunch (2014), Scotts Valley Performing Arts' Into the Woods (2010), stage managed Cabrillo College's Death (2013), Spelling Bee (2013), the Performing Arts Collective's Dinner with the MacGuffins (2013), and most recently Harold and Maude (2014) at Los Altos Stage Company.
Kathryn Adkins Kathryn Adkins (Woman 1) Kathryn Adkins is pleased to return to Cabrillo Stage where her list of roles continues to grow, including Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret, Liza in My Fair Lady, Anna in King and I, Lucy in Sweeny Todd , Guinevere in Camelot and Elsa in Sound of Music. She currently teaches classes in musical theater, acting and voice at Cabrillo College and directs for the Theatre Arts department including the wildly popular productions: Putnum County Spelling Bee, Seussical, The Musical and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Area audiences may have seen her in Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris for Public Theater or performing in recital for Music Teachers Association. She is also Co-Founder/Program Director for the newly formed NextSTAGE Productions, senior theater in Santa Cruz as well as teaching in her active private voice studio. Kathryn performed with Cabrillo Music Festival, Santa Cruz Symphony, Santa Cruz Chamber Players, and New Music Works and toured with Tandy Beal in Outside Blake's Window. Kathryn holds a Metropolitan Opera Auditions Award. She performed with Opera Theater of St. Louis and sang in concert throughout Austria with the AIMS orchestra as well as performing at the Blossom Festival in Cincinnati.
Curt Denham
Curt Denham (Man 1) Curt Denham returns to Cabrillo Stage after appearing in last season's La Cage aux Folles as Georges. Other recent productions include Annie at Maltz Jupiter Theatre starring Vicki Lewis and Big River at Casa Manana starring Jaston Williams. Other Regional: Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Theatre by the Sea, TheatreWorks, 42nd Street Moon, Sierra Repertory and Center Repertory Theatre. Curt is excited to be a part of this Sondheim revue, having appeared in a number of Sondheim musicals over the years, including Sweeney Todd, Follies, Into the Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Side by Side by Sondheim.
Joe Conceison
Joe Conceison (Man 3) Joe Conceison (Man 3) is a senior at New York University studying Musical Theatre in the Steinhardt Vocal Performance program. At NYU, Joe has performed in The Student Prince (Freshman/Ensemble), Urinetown (Mr. McQueen), and stagings of 15-minute new musicals Natural Election, Special Breakfast, and The Royal Palm. Joe is originally from Massachusetts, where he began his studies in music and theater. He was involved in various choir activities throughout high school, touring Spain and France with his chamber ensemble and representing his school at the Massachusetts All-State and All-Eastern choir conferences. Favorite credits from high school and community theaters include Chicago (Billy Flynn), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph) and Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit).
Melissa Reinertson
Melissa Reinertson (Woman 2) is delighted to be a part of this production, performing such wonderful music & lyrics! After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Musical Theatre, she moved back to the bay and currently resides in San Mateo. Past productions include: Evita (Eva Peron U/S, Ensemble), 110 in the Shade (Lizzie Curry), Cabaret (Fräulein Kost, Fritzie), Hair (Jeanie), Into the Woods (Rapunzel), A Chorus Line (Bebe / Val), Singin' in the Rain (Kathy Selden U/S, Ensemble), Meet Me In St. Louis (Rose Smith), I'm Alive You Bastards… (Rhonda), Angels In America (Hannah, Ethel, Henry), and Company (April / Sarah). She hopes to travel the world and spread her love of theatre until the end of time! Love and thanks to her teachers for the inspiration and gifts, to her parents for supporting her, and to YOU for being here today!
Blake Coelho
Blake Coelho (Man 2) Blake is thrilled to be back at Cabrillo for his third season in "Putting It Together" after already appearing as Bobby in "Cabaret" in 2010 and Link Larkin in 2011's "Hairspray!" Blake has also been seen in dozens of other roles in both his hometown of Tucson, Arizona, as well as throughout the Bay Area – most specifically, at his alma-matter, Santa Clara University, where Blake earned his Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts in 2011. Notable roles include Snoopy in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," Trevor Graydon in "Thoroughly Modern Millie," Antony in "Sweeney Todd," and Amos Hart in "Chicago." Since graduating from college, Blake has since moved to Los Angeles where he is pursuing a career in music. Blake's debut EP, "Blake Expains It All!" can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, and he continues to write and record new music for his first full-length album. Blake would love to thank his family and friends for their unyielding love and support!
