Internship Programs With Cabrillo Stage
The Work-Experience Program at Cabrillo Stage offers theatre students and pre-professionals the chance to join the production staff in a work-experience-based program. In our program you can receive college credit with hands-on experience. Our interns put their skills learned in the classroom to use, working on a professional production, side-by-side with mentors and production staff members.

Internships are available in Production and Administrative departments. Members of the Cabrillo Stage production staff provide individual mentoring and training needed for the tasks at hand. Interns can receive written evaluations and/or recommendations, which can provide professional experience for a resume.

SCENIC & PROPS INTERNS: Stipend variable with scholarships for up to 6 college units. Work with professional theatrical designers and painters. Part time or full time: The program runs June 8, 2009 through July 10, 2009. Times and dates flexible.

Students, recent graduates and career-changers with experience and enthusiasm should apply.

Interns working in the office or in the shop will work during regular business hours. Interns assigned to the production will have weekend and evening hours. Reimbursements for local transportation expenses are available for some production interns. We do not offer housing.

Volunteer Opportunities
There are several ways to get involved with Cabrillo Stage. Volunteering falls into two categories: Ushering for the production, Crewing or Building the production.

Ushering:
Cabrillo College Theater Management schedules Cabrillo Stage ushers for their summer production in the Cabrillo College Theater. Leave a message on our usher voice-mail at 831-479-5083.

Behind the Senes/Backstage: Backstage Crew positions such as deck crew, props runner, follow spot operators, dressers, etc., involve a nightly schedule for 6-7 weeks during the tech period and run of the show. Our staff will train new volunteers who show a commitment to the rigorous schedule. Honorariums may be possible.

Building: sets, costumes, properties, and scenic arts departments operate during regular business hours. Mondays-Fridays 9:00am-5:00pm, usually six weeks before the opening of the show. Training time will be needed; you must be available for an ongoing basis during these hours to volunteer in the shops.
